ユアンCEOはブログの中で、新型コロナウイルスの影響で在宅勤務やオンライン授業が増える中、Zoomの利用は同社の予想をはるかに超えて激増したと説明した。2019年12月の時点で有料版と無料版を含めて1日最大1000万人だったZoomミーティングの参加者は、2020年3月には2億人を超えたという。

　こうしたユーザー急増への対応に追われる中で、「コミュニティーの、そして私たち自身のプライバシーとセキュリティに対する期待に応えられなかった」とユアンCEOは述べ、「指摘された問題については全て一つ一つ調査して、できる限り迅速に対応する」とした。

これだけを読むと、セキュリティに対しては後回しでサービスの成長に注力したようですね。

ビデオ会議のような通信系のシステムは脆弱性を突かれると乗っ取りや情報漏えいがあってもネットワーク管理者でも気づきにくく、また感染力も強うそうです。おまけに、皆さんが許可してインストールしているのでウイルス扱いもされません。

Windowsユーザーはzoomアプリを速やかにアンインストールされることをおすすめ致します。

どうしても使用しなければならない人は、仮想環境上で動かすか、Web版をご利用下さい。
